Cryptocurrency payments in Australia are subject to anti-money-laundering regulation. CoinSpot, the AUSTRAC-registered exchange used to receive this payment, may separately request identifying information about you or your wallet as part of its own compliance obligations — this is not a requirement imposed by DEMI or UplitAU.
If you have previously published through an Australian publishing company and paid by card, that transaction already carried your identity through the card issuer. A direct Ethereum payment does not carry that same built-in identification, which is why CoinSpot may ask for it separately.
During this testing period, UplitAU Pty Ltd reserves the right to void or remove a registration if required compliance information cannot be confirmed. This does not apply to Card-paid registrations.
Please review our Terms and Conditions before proceeding. This notice reflects our current understanding and will be updated following formal legal review.
Advantages — ten points -the bridge to register asset via Tx Hash
Identity is established by the card rail. The card issuer has already performed KYC. DEMI inherits an identity chain rather than building one.
The wallet link can be cryptographically proven, not merely asserted — via signature challenge, at zero cost and with no transaction.
Cost to the author is genuinely small — a fixed fee well under the price of two coffees, against alternatives costing tens or hundreds of dollars.
The manuscript never leaves the author's browser. No upload, no retention, no copy. Privacy by architecture rather than by policy.
Only what the author chooses is published — the Frozen Extract, selected by them, not extracted from the whole work.
The system already states its own limits. Every certificate, landing page and package carries the disclaimer that DEMI does not verify identity, authorship, ownership or legal rights. The honest boundary is built, not bolted on.
Responsibility for authorship sits with the registrant, via a timestamped warranty recorded in the registration payload.
No accounts, no stored credentials, no subscriptions — the smallest possible personal-data surface, and nothing to breach.
Platform-neutral output. The AI Publication Package works with any AI system. No lock-in to one vendor, and no dependency a solicitor must assess as a single point of failure.
Independently verifiable by anyone. Hashes, Registry JSON and on-chain transactions can all be checked without an account or permission from UplitAU.
Four options for the solicitor to approve
Option 1 — Card only. Withdraw ETH entirely. Simplest, cleanest, no AUSTRAC exposure. Cost: loses the on-chain anchoring that distinguishes DEMI.
Option 2 — Card first, wallet proven by signature. Author pays by card, then optionally proves control of a wallet by signing a challenge. The wallet is recorded alongside a card-verified identity, but no ETH is received. Gives you the identity link with none of the receipt-of-cryptocurrency question. This is Option 1 plus your idea, minus the risk.
Option 3 — ETH accepted, restricted to publisher-onboarded authors. The publishing company has already identified its authors. Question for advice: does the publisher's KYC discharge UplitAU's obligation, or does receiving the ETH keep the obligation with you regardless?
Option 4 — Publisher-deployed, gas-fee only. The licensee runs its own deployment and its own wallet. Authors pay only the network fee. UplitAU never receives cryptocurrency from anyone. Revenue is the licence fee, paid by business-to-business invoice.
Option 2 for UplitAU's own interface, Option 4 for licensees.
Together they give anyone the identity chain, the on-chain anchor, and the publisher channel — while UplitAU never takes cryptocurrency from a stranger, which is the fact pattern R1 is really about.
Several questions worth putting to a decision paker precisely, because the answers determine everything above:
Does receiving ETH as consideration constitute a designated service, or is it the exchanging of it that matters? -
If a licensee receives ETH on its own deployment using UplitAU's software, is UplitAU a software licensor or a participant in the transaction?
Is the advantages to use the DEMI Concept for publishing industry development are worth to consider and solve the other assosciated issues.
You said you have more ideas to add. Send them and I'll fold everything into one document for the solicitor — I'd rather build it once, complete, than revise a draft.
